Position Summary: The Life Enrichment Assistant (LEA) is responsible for implementing the lifestyle program that meets the social, physical and mental needs of a geriatric population.  The LEA implements programming and activities that encourage and maintain optimal levels of resident (mental, physical and social) functioning.  The LEA maintains the monthly calendar of events.  The LEA implements the lifestyle/activity program as assigned by the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours every 2 weeks and must be able/flexible to work evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:
  • High School degree or GED, AA degree and 1+ years of experience working with the elderly population
  • Interest in working with a geriatric population
  • Experience working with older adults with memory impairment
  • Experience working with arts and crafts
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing); effectively interact with residents, their family members, supervisors, and other staff members
  • Ability to lead activities independently
  • A valid WI driver’s license with an excellent driving record 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Detail oriented; ability to multi-task, set priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
