As Digital Sales Manager, you will be accountable for Digital Solutions sales for ABB's Process Automation Process Industries division, driving sales volumes and margins. In this role, your primary focus will be on promoting our industrial software portfolio and demonstrating ABB's position as one of the most innovating and leading technology companies. You combine specialist technical knowledge with sales skills and will be an important player in our sales team.

Your responsibilities

  • Promote and sell digital solutions to our customers in the pulp & paper, mining, metals and cement industry.
  • Use your expertise to understand the customers requirements and incorporate your technical knowledge into your sales approach.
  • Collect market intelligence and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Draw up proposals and quotations covering all relevant technical, commercial and legal aspects and tailor them to specific customer requirements.
  • Lead the bid clarification and contract negotiation process.
  • Prepare and give compelling sales presentations and demonstrations.
  • Prepare sales plans, perform regular status reviews and propose recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience driving digital transformation for complex global organizations, ideally in a B2B environment (Process, Energy, software, technology, automation), hands on experience of the OT (Operational Technology) / software industry business with focus on digitalization and Industrial Software required.
  • Experience in the industrial software environment; Division specific industry exposure (industrial automation/advanced software) preferred; experience and background in the pulp & paper, mining, metals & cement industry.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Spanish and/or another language preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in customer-centric consultative sales and digital development within global B2B industries, delivering results and converting opportunities into sales successes, especially in Process, Energy, software, technology, and automation sectors, while engaging with top customer management.
  • Ability to deliver complex deliverables under demanding timelines, be flexible with changes and keep the customer focused, and stay within the scope of the engagement.
  • Change management experience is a strong plus.
  • Availability to travel internationally as required.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
