ABOUT AMPI:

AMPI owns eight Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

JOB SUMMARY:

AMPI is immediately hiring a Part-Time Passenger Vehicle Driver. This role is responsible for the safe pick up and drop off of passengers to designated locations. This role must also accurately record passenger attendance, vehicle inspections, and obey traffic laws for each ride.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations (such as work, home, grocery store, etc.
  3. Operates a vehicle in compliance with all State, Federal, and AMPI rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
  4. Follow planned routes to drive to a requested destination.
  5. Obey traffic laws and state and federal transit regulations.
  6. Follow procedures to ensure passenger safety.
  7. Keep passengers and supervision informed of possible delays.
  8. Accurately record passenger attendance for each ride.
  9. Track and record mileage driven for each trip.
  10. Perform and record daily inspections of the transportation vehicle.
  11. Promptly communicate issues or events to the supervision staff.
  12. Maintain vehicle by checking tires, lights, and oil.
  13. Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
  14. Stay alert to ensure passengers safety.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook email, internet/intranet and other organizational specific software.

  • Maintain a valid drivers' license and must be able to travel.
  • Possess traits of honesty, integrity, creativity and flexibility.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of confidentiality, safety, health, quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
