Work Hours Compensation Starting Salary is $116,259 - $123,235 annually. A competitive benefits package is also included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary
Incumbents provide leadership and direction for a major group of functions such as Financial Services, Advancement, Student Services, Human Resources and Legal.

Typical Essential Duties
The Vice President of Workforce Development oversees:
  • Development of strategic partnerships via a collective impact model.
  • Revenue generation and diversification to support college-wide initiatives.
  • Strategic engagement with business & industry, government, and the community.
  • Program development and alignment with regional economic and workforce strategies.
Ensures compliance with College policies and state/federal laws concerning Workforce Development and strategic partnerships.

Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations;coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.

Provides leadership and directs the implementation of internal operations related to a major group of functions, such as Financial Services, Advancement, Student Services, Human Resources, and Legal; work involves planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards;coordinates activities between multiple service areas; works to integrate and coordinate service areas as it relates to Workforce and Economic Development efforts at MCC.

Advises the executive team on issues and recommendations related to the district wide Workforce and Economic Development strategy; develops and recommends short and long-term functional planning for the District; leads strategic planning processes to identify emerging trends and organizational impact.

Serves as a liaison and primary contact for assigned functions to facilitate public relations,communications, and outreach efforts for Workforce Economic Development; represents the College at a variety of meetings, public events, training sessions, on committees, and/or the related events.

Seeks and manages collaborative efforts with business and industry, community agencies,donors and alumni, educational institutions, internal departments, and/or other interested parties to solicit funds, and facilitate grant and other departmental operations.

Oversees the development of and/or develops and administers a variety of budgets; approves expenditures; reviews financial statements; manages financial operations.

Coordinates the analysis of or collects and analyzes a variety of complex data and information; performs statistical analysis and summarizes findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums.

Positions Supervised Physical Requirements
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
