As an R&D Senior Scientist, Snacks Technical Solutions, you'll channel your technical expertise into spearheading breakthrough innovations. Leveraging state-of-the-art AI-driven tools like Campbell's Insights Engine, you'll uncover emerging trends and fuel a pipeline of disruptive new ideas. Through hands-on bench work, you'll rapidly develop proof-of-concepts to bring these revolutionary ideas to life.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience in baked snacks, with fried snacks experience being a plus. Knowledge of Agile methodology is valuable but not required. In this highly visible role, you will amplify your technical mastery while developing outstanding leadership abilities, reporting directly to the R&D Director, Technical Solutions Hub.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in R&D, commercializing food products/process

  • Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making capabilities

Principal Responsibilities

  • Independently lead cross-functional teams to execute projects of high technical complexity, fostering seamless collaboration and rapid decision-making through Agile methodology (40%)
  • Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools like Campbell's Insights Engine to uncover emerging trends, generate disruptive technical insights, and fuel our snacks innovation pipeline (20%)
  • Spearhead rapid proof-of-concept development to bring revolutionary ideas to life through hands-on bench work and analytical validation (20%)
  • Proactively apply cutting-edge scientific knowledge to develop game-changing innovations that will transform our snacks portfolio (20%)

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to handle weights of approximately thirty pounds.
  • Ability to walk/stand up at times for up to 75% of the workday.
  • Willingness and ability to taste and evaluate a wide range of food products and ingredients.
  • Kitchen, Pilot Plant, and manufacturing plant environment expose the employee to heat and hot food products, coolers, freezers, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Anticipated travel of 10-20% to R&D locations, manufacturing plants, or vendor locations.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$85,900-$140,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
