Sr. Manager- Human Resources Vertical Risk Advisor

The HR Vertical Risk Advisor will support the HRBP aligned to the Velocity Black business and provide day to day risk support across all facets of the Enterprise Risk Management framework. Notably, the HR VRA will work closely with the HRBP and the HR UK Risk Team to align on roles and responsibilities to ensure comprehensive delivery of HR risk activities for Velocity Black (e.g. risk assessment, risk aggregation and risk reporting). The VRA will also partner with the UK HR team, Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence with all applicable US and UK Employment and Privacy laws and ensure the Risk Management System of record, FUSE, accurately reflects process applicability and the control environment.

Expected VRA Deliverables and Results

  • Immediate deliverable: develop a sustainable, scalable GDPR Compliance Program for VB to include VB's obligations as a Controller of workforce data

  • Ongoing VRA Support will include single point of contact for the HRBP aligned to VB business to include the following:

    • VB HR Risk Assessments of new or changing intent (e.g. VB compensation strategies, expansion into new markets, new HR vendors); accountable for partnering with UK HR to ensure new intent is assessed through appropriate forums

    • VB HR Regulatory applicability: Partner with UK HR, Legal and Compliance to review and update regulatory applicability

    • VB HR Controls: identify and document appropriate controls, which are unique to VB and document in the Risk Management system of record, FUSE

    • VB HR Issues & Events: Provide support for VB HR Issues & Events; ensure adherence to ERM standards and expectations

    • VB HR Policies, Standards & Procedures: Support VB HR Policies through documentation in accordance with the Corporate Policy Office expectations and maintained in Wdesk

    • VB Audits & Exams: Support for VB related audits and exams where there is an intersection with HR; partner with HR UK as appropriate

    • Interaction Model across LOD: Partner with ERM and ORM to determine appropriate interaction model with VB and 2nd and 3rd Line of Defense

    • Regulatory Changes Impacting VB: Partner with UK HR, Legal and Compliance to assess impact of regulatory changes to both employment and privacy laws; document implementations plans, as appropriate to demonstrate compliance with requirements

    • Maintain VB Program documentation, including policy exceptions implemented as part LD1 (e.g. Performance Management, Compensation, etc.)

    • GDPR Program Support: Lead efforts to respond to workforce data requirements as needed by the GDPR Program (e.g. DSR Requests, ROPA Reviews, DPIA Assessments, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 7 years of risk management experience or at least 7 years of human resource experience

  • At least 3 years of process management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years of Human Resource experience

  • 5+ years of experience in process management

  • 5+ years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with key stakeholders or internal business partners

  • 2+ years of experience influencing senior leadership

  • Agile or Design Thinking experience

  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools

  • Experience in controls development, controls management, and reporting activities

  • Knowledge of Global Privacy Laws, specifically General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
