Job description summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the governance of company principles and operating practices. Responsible for providing oversight and direction for all aspects of Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding's compliance to DFARS section 252.242-7005 Contractor Business Systems. The selected candidate will support facilities, departments, and personnel regarding United States Government compliance to include assessments for non-compliance, as well as interpretation and application of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CASs), and other applicable Government regulatory controls. In addition, this individual will ensure effective management of personnel and resources, including the identification of process improvement opportunities to drive operational efficiency and enhanced process rigor. The candidate will foster a culture of growth, development, strategic thought processes, and collaboration.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • A successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of all government compliance FAR/DFAR regulations, Terms and Conditions, Contract Clauses, and Program agendas.
  • A successful candidate will have over all responsibility for the success of all Business Systems.
  • Plan and execute process improvement initiatives to align with regulator compliance requirements and company best practice initiatives.
  • Plan and initiate action to obtain effective use of resources, and to ensure completion of programs and projects as scheduled, scoped, and funded.
  • Provide Bollinger with well-defined system of internal principles and practices to ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, contractual, company and other external standards.
  • Develop and implement internal audit program for all Business Systems
  • Advise/consult on new process development
  • Advocate and foster implementation and advancement of uniform standards and protocols for process and document consistency.
  • Provide external interface and serve as the primary point of contact with U.S. Government customers (DCMA, DCAA, SSGC)
  • Lead cross-functional teams to adjudicate any external audit findings and coordinate corrective action plans and perform audit closeout activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Federal Government Contracting environment including FAR, DFARS
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and interrelated support systems including Supply Chain, Sourcing, Production, Planning, Engineering and Quality
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience developing tools, processes, and procedures
  • Experience leading training programs
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in the Shipbuilding industry is a plus.
