Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an Procurement Specialist I to join our Anniston, AL team. This position serves as the focal point for GD-OTS outgoing procurement.

Major Position Responsibilities
    Responsible for procurement of direct raw materials, parts, supplies and services.
  • Using established policy with a minimum of supervision, carries out broad assignments usually involving the purchase of important and critical items requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience.
  • Develops sources of supply where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  • Evaluates vendor/supplier reliability.
  • Supports the concurrent engineering process by acting as an interface between suppliers, manufacturing engineering, and design engineering.
  • Supports design-to-cost goals by providing engineering with cost data before designs are released for procurement.
  • Solicits bids and quotations.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years in federal procurement environment preferred
