UCF Downtown:

UCF Downtown is a 15-acre campus located in Orlando's Creative Village. The shared campus incorporates innovative technology to create a 21st-century learning environment. The campus' proximity to Orlando's Central Business District places students within walking distance of job and internship opportunities and makes it easy for faculty to invite guest speakers to campus or collaborate with professionals in their field of study.

The Opportunity:

The Space Utilization & Special Events Coordinator professionals perform duties relating to the strategic planning and effective use of university facilities. This position is responsible for the input and verification of the master schedule and facility resource utilization of the UCF Downtown campus.

Classification Title: Special Utilization Coordinator I

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, modifies, and maintains the academic master schedule for the UCF Downtown campus, including prerequisite. Analyzes student data to determine best fit of appropriate courses for each location. Manages space utilization and analysis programs; formulates and recommends related policies and procedures.

  • Negotiates and coordinates space rental for internal and external constituents. Reviews proposals for operational feasibility. Works in conjunction with operations team on providing contract to external groups for usage of space. Invoices external groups and receives payment. Assists with space set-up.

  • Provides enrollment and curriculum data to administrators in support of academic program planning. Retains historical course and program data for degree programs.

  • Assists and analysis of space utilization for academic purposes and enacts policies to increase utilization of meeting and academic spaces.

  • Advises Registrar's Office of needed co-listed, prerequisite changes for UCF Downtown. Assists with course permits, overrides, drop reports and registration errors.

  • Interprets administrative policies and procedures for recommendations to effectively manage space and facilities administration. Represents UCF on committees deemed essential to the coordination of academic program planning processes and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience in higher education.

  • Experience with Astra Schedule or similar scheduling software.
