About This Position

The Manager of Procurement and Sourcing will seek to maximize profitability and sales growth for each category with a focus on reducing product cost while maintaining quality, value and reliability. Categories are analyzed to improve profitability through item rationalization, the identification of alternative suppliers, optimizing freight costs, packaging alternatives, and any other aspects of improving product sales and profitability.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Develop deep market intelligence for strategic resale good categories by monitoring the category supply base, industry dynamics, and underlying price indices, and establishing senior level relationships with the supply base.
  • Develop aligned category strategies by understanding current and future business needs, with support from key stakeholders. Deliver at least one strategic category plan annually.
  • Lead the negotiations for Master Supply Agreements with strategic suppliers.
  • Create formula-based pricing agreements for pertinent resale goods categories, which would include direct commodity, fx, freight and other inputs.
  • Manage and lead supply and commodity risk strategy and mitigation plans for pertinent categories.
  • Responsible for category's budgeting process as part of the annual operating plan (AOP).
  • Identify prospective vendors in key product categories. Identify potential item and assortment enhancements and opportunities to consolidate SKUs or vendors.
  • Optimize sourcing of any resale goods related packaging materials.
  • Work with sales team to identify and transition customers to more profitable alternatives, as well as assisting them in new sales opportunities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional correspondence regarding product information with Sales, Operations and Supply Chain teams as necessary.
  • Manage purchase price variance (PPV) for pertinent resale goods in categories within scope.
  • Support the launch of new product introductions and sourcing new resale goods as well as the transition of replacement items, with close alignment with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Stay abreast on market trends, cost optimization, innovation and latest technologies to identify new product opportunities by analyzing industry research and attending trade shows.
  • Become Keefe's sourcing expert for resale good categories in scope.
  • Develop and maintain relationships at strategic resale good suppliers through quarterly business reviews, site visits, and other forums.
  • Utilize quarterly business reviews and other business meetings with suppliers to drive supplier performance with aligned organizational KPIs to measure.
  • Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 - 12 years of experience, with at least 3 years in strategic procurement of resale goods at a retailer, distributor, or related type of company.
  • Have managed an annual spend of at least $30 MM and continuously led sourcing of consistent categories for 2 or more years.
  • Developed or refreshed one or more procurement category strategies with stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrated use of the 7-step strategic sourcing process or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills and computer proficiency, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent.
  • Ability to support the tactical and operational needs, while not losing focus on the strategic.
  • Must have solid influencing skills to ensure team success and to work with cross-functional partners.
  • Talent for communicating, influencing, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders.
