Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • From NPD project inception, determine appropriate and effective methods to organize all necessary BOM (Bill of Materials) costing data to meet the needs of the Procurement Team as well as other project team members and stakeholders
  • Working closely with the engineering lead for each assigned project, assess readiness to quote individual components.
  • Kick off the quoting process for each project within the internal procurement team, making sure project details and special requirements are well understood by the rest of the team
  • Analyze project costing details regularly, alerting the NPD Project Managers of any significant or unexpected updates
  • Report discrepancies found in your data analyses to the appropriate project team members, proactively solving problems found by data analysis
  • Perform continuous risk management to raise concrete or potential risks to the appropriate level of the organization in order to secure proper support and overcome challenges
  • Successfully engage in several projects at once with an understanding of activities that should be prioritized
  • As needed, engage suppliers directly to make sure project requirements are well understood and met
  • Develop intuitive reports, dashboards, and other visual aids using the data sources and tools available to make the entire project team and procurement team more efficient
  • Proactively research and learn new technologies to improve the overall efficiency of the organization.
  • Incorporate lessons learned into continuous process improvement actions either within Procurement or elsewhere in the business
  • Manage process improvement projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2 years or more experience analyzing large datasets, preferably in a new product introduction or supply chain capacity.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skillset is required (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, IF Functions, etc.)
  • Experience with New Product Development (NPD) and/or stage-gate processes highly preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI (or similar tool) to link various data sources and create visual representations of data, or willingness to learn
  • Experience providing innovative reporting solutions to turn data into actionable information
  • APICS or other Supply Chain Certification is not required, but is a plus
  • Experience sourcing materials or products, preferably in a manufacturing environment, is a plus.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required, proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
