A direct hire for CNC Programmer position in Indianapolis, IN is available through Belcan with one of our key manufacturing clients. A CNC programmer programs computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery that automatically mills, punches, and drills metal parts. Qualified candidates for this role will have an Associate Degree with 5 axis milling programming experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers
* Develop work-holding and select cutting tools
* Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines
* Support engineering, shop floor, and inspection employees during all aspects of the manufacturing process
* Write and distribute a daily summary of the projects worked on during each shift. This will include any action item or special instruction for the other shifts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college OR technical school; OR
* Four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodical, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
* Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
* 5 axis milling programming experience
* Programming experience (Lasers, Water, Jets, Mills)
* NX experience is preferred OR must have willingness to train
* Ability to work overtime if needed
