Main Responsibilities
  • Schedule personnel so we have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week job services while allowing employees to maintain a good work life balance.
  • Train MAP Truck personnel to provide a positive representation for Delta Companies and ARDOT while assisting the traveling public.
  • Arrange for assistance for MAP Drivers on shift when needed, such as filling potholes, sign replacement, message board and/or arrow boards.
  • Ensure MAP Drivers are following all safety guidelines by observing and correcting behavior.
  • Complete Payroll for MAP truck employees daily.
  • Replace MAP personnel as needed to ensure MAP responsibilities are being met.
  • Be available 24/7 to assist or direct MAP drivers on shift. It may be necessary for the MAP Supervisor to fill in for MAP drivers shift.
  • Ensure the MAP Trucks are maintained and DARCI Inspections are completed as needed.
  • Be a point of contact for State Inspectors, State Police, and project management to communicate traffic disruptions and resolve issues they may have as it relates to our area of responsibilities.
  • Identify traffic control device deficiencies and correct or notify project management so corrections can be made.
  • Keep all tools and safety equipment replaced and stocked as needed to be able to do the job.
  • Ensure daily check sheets and reports required by Delta andARDOT are completed.
  • Must keep equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly always on the projects.
  • Must be able to carry out detailed instructions, setting up and removing traffic control devices, but also must be able to use good judgement in decision making and be able to work without direct supervision.
  • Must maintain a good attitude and be polite to motorists.
  • Must have the ability to work safely in traffic situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Must be able to use various types of computer/electronic technology to complete daily time reporting and other company-required reporting responsibilities.
  • Must be available for shift work: days and/or nights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
