THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you will be responsible and accountable for the safety and security of consumers, employees, students, and visitors of the hospital buildings and grounds. In fulfillment of your daily duties, you will patrol all buildings by vehicle and on foot to observe and correct fire hazards, acts of trespass, vandalism, and theft. You will document incidents and complete necessary reports such as shift patrol logs and maintenance work orders. You will respond to emergency calls by assisting with patient restraints, evacuation, fire aid, and fire suppression and system restoration. Additionally, you will carry out transports of consumers and staff to various destinations, and make bank deposits. Voluntary and mandatory overtime may occasionally be required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 4:00 PM to midnight. Your work days will vary and include working every other weekend.
  • Overtime as needed. This may change based on operational need.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
