As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Lunar Lander Manufacturing Engineering team by guiding the team with translating engineering design, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight. You will share in the team's impactwith the day-to-day responsibilities including Manufacturing Plan development, Work Order authoring, develop innovative processes and procedures for various spaceflight systems, and provide mentoring and career path development for your direct reports.

We put a strong emphasis on design capability and hands-on technical ability, as our managers are directly involved with design, analysis, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and active engagement with engineering. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, satellite, and/or aircraft manufacturing environments.

  • 8+ years of related combined experience in manufacturing engineering, people leadership, and project management/program management roles at various levels within a manufacturing

  • Prior people leadership experience managing within fast-paced and evolving environments.

  • Experience with mentoring engineers in the areas of career development, technical skills, and project management.

  • Previous experience in a product leadership role with significant technical project management responsibility and proven technical depth.

  • Experience leading product and people through various product lifecycle stages including concept, development, and production.

  • General proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

  • General proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Extreme customer-focus with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • Advanced professional expertise in manufacturing engineering fundamentals across the product lifecycle including requirements, fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and refurbishment.

  • Project Management Certification (PMP).

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

  • Experience using schedule management tools (P6 Primavera and/or Microsoft Project) to analyze/manage schedule health, variances, and Critical Path.

  • Experience using cost management tools to analyze/manage project budget health and variances.
