Where You Will Work:
The Lewiston, Idaho location is unique as it is Clearwater Paper's only manufacturing location that produces both high-quality paperboard products for our Paperboard Division as well as private label tissue products for our Consumer Products Division.

The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper's facilities, and boasting over 1200 talented employees. Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper's headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper's business strategy. This location offers employees an opportunity to learn both sides of the business while influencing key business decisions and outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for area safety and assist with all area safety efforts. Participate or review all safety incidents and investigate root cause. Ensure follow-up items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Help support the behavioral safety program (where applicable) and ensure that safe work practices are followed.
  • Lead safety initiatives and provide safety training to ensure safe work practices are followed and enforced.
  • Work to eliminate employee interactions with equipment.
  • Address safety concerns with a strong urgency.
  • Ensure environmental compliance.

Quality

  • Maintain and improve quality standards for all products produced.
  • Ensure Quality checks/Line audits happen
  • Support product development activities
  • Lead and support all GMP Audits
  • Lead and support product trails

Production

  • Sets objectives and goals for production area
  • Ensures the business unit works to standards such as safety and quality
  • Coaches and facilitate losses elimination by using problem solving tools
  • Assures the problems are solved (root cause) and tasks are implemented in a sustainable way
  • Accountable for the business unit operational budget
  • Defines and executes improvement projects and Approval for production area
  • Ensures effective communication and results review through site operational meetings

Leadership

  • Conduct investigations of safety incidents with shift supervisors and hourly personnel.
  • Develop team in areas of production, safety, quality and overall plant efficiency. * Ensure employee compliance with schedules, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing job-specific training program, Qual-card and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Support capital budget process.
  • Creates an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive teamwork
  • Assists in performance management process of hourly employees in immediate production area
  • Coaches and develop team members and individuals to assure a sustained leadership pipeline
  • Assists in the motivation and morale of the production area to achieve the expected goals

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in management, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing or engineering experience required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with ability to learn production related programs.
  • Self-directed and energetic, able to lead and motivate others.
  • Knowledge of industry, machinery, equipment, and processes.

Total Reward Details:

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
