Overview

Private Banking (PB) US Operations is part of the Central Europe and US region and provides operational support in the US to the Private Banking business in the areas of Discretionary, Trust Planning, Custody, Wealth Advisory, Brokerage and Lending as well as the Deposit business with combined $70bn assets under management (AUM). Operations is responsible for managing middle and back-office services including outsourced services to third party vendors and services offshored to internal Deutsche Bank locations.

As the Head of Private Banking US Operations, you will be responsible for $5bn AUM and oversee onshore, offshore, and external services (middle-office, client onboarding, cash processing custody, clearing and all back-office services) ensuring effective and efficient full-service delivery in a controlled environment adhering to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority regulation. You will confirm highest standard procedure documentation, establish end-to-end process flows, and implement changes to support streamlined processes/workflows with overall goal of adhering to internal policy, regulatory mandates, and risk mitigation requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day to day including offshore services and services provided by our external vendors:

    • Brokerage Operations/Service (custodial, clearing, settlement, and transaction processing services)

    • Lending operations

    • Document management

  • Owner of the vendor relationship and oversight (KPI's, services/solutions, contractual agreements, vendor risk management, vendor cost)

  • Functional responsibility across Private Banking products and platforms for Trading, Asset Services, Alternatives, Retirement Accounts, and Special Products

  • Leverage strong expertise of client needs and requirements to execute and communicate the functional strategy and provide recommendations to develop improved service offerings

  • Facilitate team's operational issue resolution through proper documentation of root cause analysis and recommended improvements ensuring client needs are being addressed by team function

How You'll Lead

  • Manage performance of onshore and offshore teams, setting clear priorities and expectations as well as providing direction and support; responsible for overseeing HR activities for direct reports

  • Manage projects in collaboration with the Agile organization

  • Represent PB US Operations in various meetings and forums

Skills You'll Need

  • Experience in Brokerage Operations leadership role within middle / back-office environment and Private Banking Management background and knowledge of Private Banking suite of products

  • Excellent client / stakeholder management and communication skills (written/ verbal) with ability to facilitate meetings/discussions to progress topics to comprehensive next steps and resolution

  • Prior people management experience

  • Involvement with managing and overseeing services provided by external vendors

  • At ease in managing projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $110K to $185K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
