International Tax Manager

INTERNATIONAL TAX MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Under broad direction, manages the international tax function including tax planning and transfer pricing. This will entail actively managing personnel and deadlines in support of financial and/or statutory reporting processes, account reconciliations and supporting financial pronouncements, and tax technical research, as applicable. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, review of income tax returns, review of quarterly and annual income tax provision under US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards. This involves preparation/review of technical memoranda in support of tax technical positions taken in financial statements and statutory tax filings. This also includes supporting SOX compliance and aiding with both internal and external tax and accounting audits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the development / maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the company's global transfer pricing policies.
  • Manage tax planning projects.
  • Reviews international tax returns.
  • Reviews US International tax calculations including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, FTC.
  • At the direction of the Director Corporate Tax, manages/assists with audit defense.
  • Reviews quarterly and annual ASC-740 income tax provision.
  • Reviews ASC 740-10 and ASC 718 calculations.
  • Reviews effective tax rate calculations.
  • Reviews return to provision adjustments (true-up calculations).
  • Reviews tax reporting data received from foreign locations.
  • Reviews tax clauses contained in bids/tenders.
  • Oversees documentation and registration processes for contracts in international locations.
  • Coordinates tax support for international locations.
  • Must be familiar with the tax laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which the company operates and keep current on changes/developments.
  • Ensures tax processes comply with SOX requirements.
  • Ensures that general ledger tax accounts are reconciled and that work paper files support the account balances.
  • Reviews research and presents conclusions on technical tax issues as required.
  • Oversees the management and development of staff.
  • Coordinates special projects as required.
  • Available to travel on occasion to support corporate tax functions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance required. A minimum of 10 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience required including experience with international tax, transfer pricing, ASC 740 and SOX compliance; supervisory experience required. Some U.S. international experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret tax and accounting rules, regulations, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and taxing authorities.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant certification is a plus.
