A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CORPORATE CAD TRAINER

As a Corporate CAD Trainer, you are invaluable to the success of our company. Your goal is to ensure that each of our clients receives standardized drawings that are accurate, complete, and meaningful. You achieve this end by conscientiously training our employees in the best practices of CAD design. Your workday is engaging as you prepare and conduct training in our corporate headquarters and regional offices. Highly experienced in civil design, you provide instruction on several types of software, such as AutoCAD, Autodesk, MicroStation, Inroads, and more.

The curriculum you develop is as varied as the projects our engineering company undertakes. You teach functions such as pipe networks, erosion control, grading, and more. Utility design is another important concept you address. In addition, you teach your students to adhere to our corporate standards in drawing creation, set up, layering, file management, and others. You explain how to maintain a project diary and review drawings to be sure that our standards are upheld.

A mentor at heart, you are a source of encouragement for those you train, supervising the CAD support group and responding to questions or concerns. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CORPORATE CAD TRAINER

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience and training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expertise with CAD design, project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience with training techniques
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to occasionally travel overnight

Certification with Autodesk or a similar certification program would be a big plus. Do you have great communication skills? Are you organized and efficient? Can you explain things in a clear and logical way? If yes, you might just be perfect for this corporate training position!


WORK SCHEDULE

This corporate training position works a full-time schedule with occasional travel to our regional offices.
