Financial Operations Manager - Cedar Rapids, IA

OVERVIEW:

Join the Cedar Rapids Manufacturing Site as the Financial Operations Manager. In this role you will collaborate with peers to achieve plant goals, partner with plant operations to support business results and the plant mission, support a strong fiduciary environment, analyze metrics and reporting, and provide business insights. You will have financial leadership responsibility for the entire site. The Cedar Rapids facility makes Big G Cereal, Betty Crocker Ready to Spread Frosting and Fruit products in a unionized plant with 800 employees.

As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, you'll gain significant Cross-Functional Team Leadership and People Management experience. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to Govern and/or Execute Control Activities by overseeing critical month/year-end SOX compliance actions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure Effective Plant Financial Management
  • Responsible for development, execution and monitoring of the annual operating plan, periodic financial forecasts, and monthly financial close.
  • Monitoring financial performance and develop plans to close any gaps to plant targets.
  • Supporting site delivery of annual HMM targets.
  • Ensure Effective Financial Controls
  • Ensuring the control environment complies with all company policies and supports the safeguarding of company assets.
  • Maintaining audit ready status of internal controls through periodic review and self-audit.
  • Plant Leadership Team Responsibilities
  • Collaborate as a strong voice on the Plant Leadership Team (PLT)
  • Support development and execution of site strategies, including Manufacturing Excellence transformation and large capital project execution
  • Provide support and leadership on cross functional plant and corporate initiatives.
  • Engage in activities to develop all employees, including safety observations, Zero Loss coaching, and plant floor time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well on team and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization (Partnership for Impact) and coach/develop others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working in a finance/accounting role within manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing others and leading teams
  • Experience in food manufacturing
  • Proven analytical and strategic skills (Analytic Proficiency)
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Assertive, self-confident, and willing to offer opinions and insights (Plant/Site Leadership)
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and to effectively work with a team (Situational Agility)
  • Ability to influence, develop, and motivate peers (Matrix Relationship Management)

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $104700.00 - $157200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
