UTSA Athletics

On the heels of its entry into the American Athletic Conference, UTSA Athletics launched its latest campaign: Bold Champions in The American. This philanthropic campaign accelerates the university's focused work to elevate UTSA as a national brand and to stake its claim in this competitive conference, which features institutions with robust funding, programming and infrastructure.

Salary Range: $45,028 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

UTSA Athletics and the Office of Advancement seek a proactive, results-driven individual, to provide specialized skills and knowledge to assist in the planning and execution of all aspects of a comprehensive Athletics Annual Giving Program. This role will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Development and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing assigned annual giving programs in order to maximize fundraising.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Plan and implement Roadrunner Athletic Fund (RAF) Appeals, including but not limited to:
    • RAF Collateral and Online Content - RAF Membership Guide, RAF Webpage, Bold Champions in the American Microsite.
    • Annual Fund Direct Mail Solicitations - End of Year Summary, RAF+ Renewal (philanthropic only gifts with no per-seat requirement), Collateral inclusions in direct mailing for season ticket renewals.
    • Email Campaigns (20+ Communications) - Recurring Gift Appeal, Giving Tuesday (Soft Ask), End of Year Giving Appeal for tax purposes, 210 Day Appeal, Membership Deadline Appeal at the end of fiscal year, Bold Champions in the American Appeals, 110% & Next Level Appeals, Hospitality Upgrade emails.
    • Crowdfunding Giving Campaigns (Webpages and Email Appeals) (20+ Communications) -UTSA Giving Day, Battle of the Birds, Post Season Championship Fund.
  2. Serve as ticketing liaison; coordinate priority parking and donor loyalty points. Responsible for:
    • RAF language in printed and electronic season ticket renewal.
    • Loyalty Points Deadline reminder emails.
    • Supporting cross-education and information sharing with the ticket office.
    • Post-season priority communications, seating allocation, priority limits.
  3. Assist with implementing inbound and outbound phone calls; conduct outbound calls to renew donations; respond to incoming phone calls and daily inquiries received by the RAF email account.
  4. Assist with gameday hospitality duties for football and basketball seasons, including hosting donors in the 2011 Club during home football games.
  5. Assist with administrative duties, such as managing pledge reminders, and receipts, and coordinating deposits and forms with gift services.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional education/experience may substitute for experience/education on a one for one basis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated skills in customer service.
  • Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and successfully with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
