DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will be responsible for a diverse range of administrative tasks that support the delivery of high-quality services to Pennsylvania residents. In this role, you will be performing various clerical and office-related responsibilities in accordance with established procedures and systems. You are expected to interact with the public in a polite and professional manner, whether in person or over the phone, while utilizing basic computer skills for tasks such as data entry, customer service, and office organization. You will operate under the guidance of a clerical supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
  • This position will require overtime and travel as needed.
  • WORK CONDITIONS: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Erie County. If no eligible candidates who live within Erie County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
