THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, specifically the Division of Third-Party Liability (TPL), is currently on the lookout for a detail-oriented clerical assistant to take on a range of responsibilities in order to assist the division as a whole. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, you will be responsible for making independent decisions on whether to open a case and generating relevant letters when necessary. You will also be required to communicate with various parties such as attorneys, recipients, and insurance companies to gather any additional information that may be required. When handling dedicated hotline calls, you will utilize your analytical skills to provide independent responses. Additionally, you will screen requests to ensure they are appropriate, complete, and prioritize those that require immediate attention. Proficiency in using standard office equipment and computer programs will be essential for carrying out your duties effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Free Parking.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. up to 3 days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
