Summary

Administer payroll and time management services for all facilities associated with hospital corporations. Coordinate implementation and administration of information systems for the hospital corporations Payroll portion of the HRIS and Time Management Systems.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Possess core knowledge of HR, payroll, benefits, policies and practices to prepare and maintain statistical information, monitoring payroll and timekeeping to identify trends, promote efficiencies with Editors and Approvers, and update management as appropriate
  • Stays current with existing and new government regulations pertaining to pay and associated Human Resource practices to ensure compliance (DOL, UIA, FLSA, Wage and Hour, Tax Law Changes, etc).
  • Establish and update payroll, time and attendance, reconciliation and reporting documented procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Prepares reports for quarterly, yearly, and weekly reports. Administer tax and withholding records and deduction for all federal, state, or other corporate taxes that affect payroll.
  • Reconciles W-2 amounts with payroll totals, coordinates processing at calendar year end and fiscal year end.
  • System maintenance for payroll deductions, stipend/shift differential pay, and paid time off programs.
  • Process biweekly and monthly activities necessary to process payrolls.
  • Completes all required reconciliations associated with calculations, direct deposits, tax reporting and payment of tax liabilities and voluntary deductions.
  • Set up garnishment, send required notices and ensure payroll vendor is notified.
  • Monitor and audit time collection payroll and verify employees have been calculated and approved.
  • Calculate and enter special payments such as retroactive payments, time off accruals, bonus, incentives, etc.
  • Reconcile PTO & EII discrepancies, 403b/457 changes, direct deposits, tax reporting, payment of tax liabilities, voluntary deductions, etc.
  • Consult with managers and employees on payroll questions, policies, and legal regulations
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Process manual payments, voided transactions, and reissue
  • Streamline processes and applications while ensuring accuracy, integrity, compliance, cost-effectiveness of services and timeliness.
  • Monitors and Assists with the time management system
  • Provide access to timecard editors
  • Develops and conducts training in the use of the time management system

Customer Service Responsibilities

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business/Accounting required or 3-5 years previous payroll experience
  • 3-5 years payroll management experience
  • Payroll system experience with the ability to manage the payroll system set up
  • Ability to communicate, explain, interpret, and present data effectively and efficiently
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships and relate to employees and participants of all ages, education and motivational levels

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • CPP or related designations.
  • Report writer experience
