Job Description
Description & Requirements
The Macosko Lab at the Broad Institute is seeking to hire a postdoctoral associate to lead our work characterizing cell states associated with the accumulation of early Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology in the brain. Through a unique collaboration, we have been performing single-nucleus and spatial genomics profiling of hundreds of human brain biopsies from the frontal cortex. We aim to build upon the exciting biological discoveries made in the original phase of this study (Gazestani et al, Cell 2023) to uncover key molecular and cellular events underlying AD etiology and progression. Additional exciting opportunities with this project include the availability of rich biomarker data (proteomics, neuroimaging, and more) from these biopsied patients that can help inform what is observed in the genomics datasets. The candidate should have a PhD and a strong background in computational biology. Expertise in high-dimensional data analysis is essential, and ideally a familiarity with single-cell and/or spatial genomics datasets is preferred. Some knowledge of neurodegeneration and/or neurobiology is also preferred, but not essential. They will become a part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative community of scientists that spans multiple labs.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
