Job Description

This is a remote position, however, the candidate must reside within 30 miles of one of the following locations: Portland ME, Boston MA, Washington DC, Dallas TX and San Jose CA.

About the Team:

Centralized within the Digital organization, the Data & Analytics team is growing rapidly in order to support new initiatives that will enable business stakeholders to more effectively leverage data to support their daily activities. We are a lively, collaborative group of data enthusiasts who find great joy in delivering high-value data solutions to our internal customers. We work on the top-priority efforts across the organization and are key to enabling data-driven decision-making.

In this role, you will play a critical part in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with stakeholders in Finance and Data Analytics to actively understand their challenges and opportunities related to financial data. Collaboratively translate business needs into clear and concise technical requirements for the data platform team.

  • Work collaboratively with application engineers and the database teams to understand data sources, integration points, and data upload frequencies for the processes

  • Analyze financial data models, reports, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and automation, uncovering valuable insights.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define clear data requirements for analysis and reporting systems, ensuring the right data is sourced and utilized effectively.

  • Develop data mapping diagram and strategies to ensure seamless integration between the new platform and existing data sources

  • Document business processes and data flows meticulously, ensuring clarity and understanding for all stakeholders.

  • Design and develop user-friendly reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and platform performance for finance platform needs (rebates, pricing, and commissions), leveraging tools like Tableau.

  • Participate in defining data governance standards and processes for the finance platform, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Support future enhancements and "fast follows" for the finance platform based on emerging business needs.

Experience You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical or Systems Business Analyst or similar role, with a strong blend of business acumen and technical skills.

  • Experience working with data in a financial services setting (Fintech/payments industry a plus).

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data integration methodologies. Experience with cloud data warehousing is a plus!

  • Experience applying data modeling techniques, such as Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), to represent complex financial data structures.

  • Proven ability to map business processes and needs to technical solutions.

  • Possess a strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to data quality and accuracy in all aspects of your work.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience working with cloud data platforms like Snowflake.

  • Experience building automated and scalable data solutions for self-service analytics.

  • Experience with data preparation/wrangling tools like Alteryx, Dataiku, or dbt.

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing data-driven solutions that improve business processes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively bridge the gap between business and technical teams.

  • Experience working with legacy code and translating it into technical requirements.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Salary Pay Range: $84,000.00 - $111,000.00
