Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Technical Specialist/Lead, Automotive to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Manager, Automotive and Autonomy Technologies the role will utilize your GNSS+INS expertise to ensure our customers' success. Through the support of our Sales and Business Development teams, you will help to increase awareness of our revolutionary technologies, consult on positioning & autonomy solutions for vehicle localization and autonomous driving development, and provide field and professional services to our worldwide customer base.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. Our preferred location for this role is in either our based in Calgary, AB or Detroit Metropolitan Area, MI, United States. Additional locations will be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Specialist/Lead, Automotive, you would be responsible for:

    Efficiently resolving 3rd tier customer support cases and other cases escalated from other support teams with a focus on automotive and autonomous driving applications
  • Providing technical expertise and participating in our sales process coordinating and delivering demonstrations and product evaluations within the automotive market, including coordination of the Automotive demonstration fleet
  • Working closely with Sales and Business Development in accordance with the market needs and agreed priorities
  • Directing cases escalated onward to our product development group
  • Offering support and training to our Sales and Support teams to successfully demonstrate and support products within the automotive market, both remotely and on-site
  • Creating and maintaining training material and application notes, conduct internal and external training, and offering input to customer requirements for automotive-related products
  • Representing the support organization in new product development
  • Accepting new products, services, and product enhancements into the support organization, developing material, and training support colleagues
Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Degree in Geomatics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a technical support role or related industry experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to get on with others
  • English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to and willingness to travel occasionally within North America and internationally

  • Experience working directly with customers, preferably in the delivery of support or services
  • Experience in GNSS and INS systems installation and/or troubleshooting
  • Experience in automotive or autonomous driving industries
  • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) and Linux
  • Experience with data analysis and GNS/INS post-processing
