Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary: The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking a Postdoctoral candidate. This position is available to individuals with research interests in biosensors and wearable electronics. Dr. Mark Cheng will advise the candidate.

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Engineering or a related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Experience with biosensors, microfluidics, and bioelectronics.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong microsystem integration is beneficial, including but not limited to microfabrication, optics, electrochemistry. Experience with data visualization and analysis software.
