Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
* Performs a variety of laboratory experiments such as histology, flow cytometry, molecular techniques, gene sequencing, and related technical functions, testing, troubleshooting, and analysis, including microsurgical procedures, and ensuring conformity to specifications.
* Identifies and prepares specimens.
* Oversees supply management: ordering, procurement, tracking estimates, and receiving items.
* Operates and maintains applicable laboratory equipment for job functions.
* Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and log books. Organizes and documents results.
* Maintains, calibrates, cleans, and tests sterility of laboratory equipment.
* The lab in the Department of Pediatrics is looking for Research Technician for signal processing in various research projects with MRI and Pathology based image and signal processing projects. Qualified candidates must be proficient in Matlab and/or Python. Qualified candidates should have a basic understanding of image and signal processing techniques, however not necessarily required. Qualified candidates will assist in data cleaning and manual segmentation for our processing pipelines. Qualified candidates will work directly with PI in the creation of new machine-learning methods for boosting pipeline throughput as well as writing and creating SOPs for already developed pipelines. Familiarity with creation of GUI-based applications in MATLAB is a bonus.
