Job Summary:

The VP Analytics Operations and Commercialization plays a critical leadership role in shaping and executing our organization's data strategy and driving the success of our organization by leading strategic initiatives related to analytics operations and the commercialization of data products. This position is responsible for overseeing data governance, driving operational excellence across our data and analytics functions, and owning the P&L of an emerging data product commercialization business.

This role partners closely with business, technology, and the Data and Analytics department to ensure the Surescripts enterprise has a comprehensive understanding of data accessibility, quality, integrity, security, privacy, validity, and utility requirements, and that all data usage meets criteria for regulatory and contractual compliance. The Analytics Operations and Commercialization team is responsible for identifying and prioritizing the highest value opportunities for analytics and insights and for executing a long-term strategy to maximize business value of our data assets. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, drive execution of complex data and analytics requirements, and deliver actionable insights and profitable data products.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for analytics operations and data product commercialization aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish metrics to measure the success and effectiveness of analytics operations and data product commercialization efforts.

  • Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in analytics operations and data product development.

Analytics Operations Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of analytics processes, systems, and infrastructure to ensure efficient and scalable operations.

  • Lead team of Analytics Business Partners responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs for analytics and insights, bringing those needs though the Data and Analytics intake and prioritization process, and collaborating with other Data and Analytics teams to deliver meaningful and valuable insights to the business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams responsible for data collection, storage, integration, processing, analysis, and visualization.

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, privacy, and security.

  • Lead the data governance committee and serve as representative on any other relevant review boards, as needed. Define and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Monitor compliance with data governance guidelines. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address data-related risks.

  • Ensure best-in-class data quality and accuracy. Develop and track data accuracy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for insights. Collaborate with product, technology, and data engineering teams to maintain high data quality standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and maximize the value of analytics assets.

Data Product Commercialization:

  • Oversee the process to identify market opportunities and customer needs for data-driven products and solutions through market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback.

  • In partnership with the Director, Data Product Commercialization, lead the development of go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and sales enablement initiatives for data products.

  • Owns overall performance and profitability of data products, and product innovation initiatives to maintain competitiveness and meet evolving customer needs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of analytics professionals, data scientists, engineers, and product managers.

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment where team members feel empowered, motivated, and valued.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders across departments and business units to understand their analytics needs and requirements.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on analytics operations and data product commercialization, providing guidance and support to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Cultivate relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to stay abreast of industry trends and leverage external expertise as needed.

Qualifications: Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, data science, statistics, business administration, or a related discipline.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data management, product management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading analytics operations, data product development, and commercialization efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Deep understanding of analytics methodologies, technologies, tools, and platforms, with experience in areas such as data warehousing, data modeling, data visualization, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into data-driven strategies and initiatives.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent, build high-performing teams, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree e.g., MBA or MS in a relevant field preferred

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $240,950 - $294,450 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
