The Office of Student Success is seeking to hire anAssistant Directorto help to lead theUniversity Advisement Center. Successful candidates for the position of Assistant Director will be forward-thinking, solution-oriented individuals who are willing to find innovative ways to continue to improve some of the fastest growing graduation rates in the nation. The selected candidates will perform supervisory duties (hire, train, evaluate) as well as be responsible for serving a student population for an academic college or advisement unit.
Essential Job Functions:
Advises prospective and current students about academic requirements and selection of courses. Work with colleges to make sure advisors have the current information regarding academic programs and college/unit requirements.
Evaluates and maintains student records for degree requirements using academic evaluation system. Monitor's student registration activities and academic performance/progress.
Serve as a liaison to other campus advising units in order to effectively implement advisement plans and to coordinate University advisement. Work with these units and other campus wide committees to develop and track metrics regarding student advisement outcomes.
Perform supervisory duties such as hire and evaluate staff, as well as train them based on university policies and procedures, technological systems such as, but not limited to the Education Advisory Board system and Degree Works, and policies and procedures related to academic advisement.
Review student petitions - to include researching problem and writing any correspondence that needs to go back to the student.
Work withDirector of the Office of Academic Assistance for specific college/unit assigned and to ensure thateach student has an assigned advisor for the major type for selected college.
