Job Description

As the Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the go-to-market, growth, and commercial excellence strategies for the Life Sciences sector at Ecolab. You will lead and support cross-functional teams, working independently to identify and validate growth opportunities, and execute strategic and commercial initiatives across the sector and its business units. This position requires close collaboration with the Sector Senior Leadership Team, individual Business Units, and functional and regional partners within Ecolab's matrix organization.

We are looking for a leader with demonstrated success in the following areas:

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Lead and support the development and implementation of global go-to-market strategies for the Life Sciences sector across all regions.
  • Optimize mature market strategies and develop new go-to-market approaches for emerging markets.
  • Drive cross-business unit initiatives and innovate new commercial models.

Growth Strategy

  • Assess market attractiveness, feasibility, and strategic alignment to identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis to evaluate size, fit with Ecolab, and necessary portfolio and go-to-market elements.

Commercial Operations

  • Support key operational initiatives for commercial teams in both mature and emerging markets.

External Partnerships

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of external partnership opportunities in line with business strategy.
  • Coordinate business development efforts across teams and functions.
  • Lead and manage selected external partnerships, building business cases and ensuring successful execution.

Special Projects

  • Lead and support special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, capital projects, and market insights as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare, STEM, or finance with 8 years in strategic development, sales operations, or strategic portfolio marketing.
  • 2 years of experience in strategic development, sales operations, or strategic portfolio marketing with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical markets.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of driving data-based decision-making.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional, and cross-country initiatives.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, financial analysis, and market analysis.
  • This position can be remote for the right candidate as long as they are located in the eastern or central coastal states of the US.
  • Travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
